Hello!

Welcome to adster’s domain!

This is the personal website of Adam W. LaPrade.

After attending the University of Central Florida’s Film program, I recently moved cross-country to Hollywood, California. Currently, I’m Credential Systems Administrator for the Academy Awards and the Emmy Awards. This site is a collection of things I’ve worked on recently.

After slowly acquiring studio-grade equipment, I decided to form a small video production company specializing in corporate videos and independent filmmaking. Adster Productions has most recently been involved in filming a series of training and instructional videos for the Hard Knock’s corporation in Orlando, Florida.

    Film Equipment

I have a large range of run-and-gun equipment available for filmmaking. I start with a Canon XH-A1 High-Def camera. That feeds directly into a tapeless Firestore FS-C harddrive system. For audio, I have 2 Sennheiser EW100 wireless mic systems both coupled with a Countryman B6 microphone. For a boom, I use the Rode NTG-2 attached to a boom pole. For a softer, more film-like appearance, I use the Letus35 Extreme 35mm lens converter with a range of Canon lenses. For certain shots, I also have a 2x3 ft dolly with 30 ft of track, a 12x10 ft chroma green screen and a selection of bounce boards all lit using an Amvonna 2500 watt 3 point lighting kit.

For post production, I use a MacBook Pro with 4GB of ram and over 1TB of external storage (which seems to be growing all the time!) I use a myriad of software suites that really depend on the project, for example Adobe’s Creative Suite CS4 (Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects, etc), Apple Final Cut Studio 2 (Final Cut Pro, Soundtrack, DVD Studio Pro, etc) and Celtx for production management.

Don’t forget to check out the newest short film, Wii Fit: One Man’s Journey. Some projects I’ve worked on have been featured in the New York Times, Joystiq, and the Atlanta Film Festival!
